OUR REPTILES

At SLDragons 813, our mission is to provide quality care for the reptiles entrusted to us, promote responsible breeding, and help others better understand and appreciate these incredible creatures. As a small, family-run business, we strive to share our knowledge through education and husbandry resources while treating each animal with care and respect. Above all, we desire to honor God through our work, sharing the wonder of His creation and reflecting on the truth of Romans 1:20: that His invisible attributes are understood through the things He has made.

A Commitment to the Future

Chinese water dragons are what first inspired us to take a deeper look at reptile breeding. These beautiful, intelligent lizards are native to Southeast Asia, but finding captive-bred animals can be challenging compared with more commonly bred reptiles. Much of the historical pet trade has relied on wild-caught imports, which makes responsible captive breeding especially important.

With Chinese water dragons now listed under CITES Appendix II, we believe there is even more reason to encourage responsible, captive-bred generations. At SLDragons 813, our goal is to raise healthy dragons with attentive care and give future keepers the opportunity to enjoy these remarkable animals without relying on another wild-caught animal entering the trade.

For us, this is about more than breeding reptiles. It is an opportunity to learn, to educate others, and to appreciate the incredible design of God’s creation.

Why captive breeding matters

Big Personalities, Wonderful Lessons

Bearded dragons have earned a special place in the reptile hobby, and it is easy to understand why. Their curious personalities, expressive behavior, and ability to interact with their keepers make them wonderful animals for introducing people to the world of reptiles.

At SLDragons 813, we appreciate the opportunity to help others discover that reptiles are more than scales and tails. They are unique animals with specific needs, fascinating behaviors, and a beauty all their own. Through responsible care, education, and breeding, we hope to help more people appreciate these incredible creatures and the wisdom of the Creator who made them.

A Living Work of Art

Honduran milk snakes caught our attention with their bold bands of red, orange, and black. Every pattern is a reminder of just how much variety and beauty can be found in God’s creation. These snakes offer a different perspective on the reptile world, showing that even an animal without legs can inspire fascination and respect.

At SLDragons 813, we enjoy learning about their genetics, caring for them properly, and exploring the possibilities of responsible breeding. Our goal is to raise healthy snakes while helping others appreciate their natural beauty, understand their needs, and look beyond the misconceptions that sometimes surround snakes.
